Obviously its a good start. It’s just a start though. Long tournament this. There were a few moments that were highlights. Nitish played beautifully. Narine’s start. Robin’s batting. And Russell’s finish. Then the bowling as well they had some good strokemakers and we had to tie them down. Narine got injured so we made a last minute change and it was gracious of Nitish to open. There are a lot of good players for us. Important to keep them in a good space. Long tournament we can’t get ahead of ourselves. Got a few interesting games playing away. We’re looking forward to it.

This was the First loss of KXIP in this IPL season 2019 in this match KKR VS KXIP.

Ravichandran Ashwin says that,

We weren’t really focussed on the small things and they do cost you big in this format. Yes we definitely have to look at it next game. I’ll take the blame for the no ball. I should’ve had a look at it. At that stage with the slog on you hope the fielders are switched on but obviously he was a debutant. Positives Varun’s 15th over and we managed things well with small boundaries. Mayank batted well. I thought 200 was par and that’s where the small mistakes cost us. We played four last year in Mohali and won all of them. It suits our batters there. It’s important to win games on the bounce and that’s why that batting performance was important.
