It is important that matches are scheduled in accordance to the dates of election which will be held in multiple phases.

BCCI speaking to Hindustan Times,

It was not possible to release the schedule of the IPL, before the dates of the general election are out, as matches need to be planned keeping the dates in mind, as elections are held in different phases”.

The Board of Control for Cricket

The cricket fans will have to be more patient due to the general elections.

The BCCI is expected to release the schedule in few days.

BCCI CLEARED THAT IPL 2019 WILL BE HELD IN INDIA:

The general elections have clashed with the IPL on two times before. As a result of the elections in 2009, the whole IPL was played in South Africa. Meanwhile, when the situation occurred in 2014, a part of the IPL had to be played in the UAE.

It will be the first time, within the 12 years history of the cricket event that both the General Elections and also the entire IPL will take place in India.

SCHEDULING IPL 2019 COME BEFORE THE WORLD CUP:

This will be the third time since its beginning in 2008, we’ll have the IPL and the ICC World Cup in the same year.

But unlike the 2 previous such occasions, what makes 2019 completely different is that for the first time the IPL will come before the world Cup.

The first time, IPL and the World Cup happened in the same year was in 2011. The world Cup ended on 2nd April 2011 and the IPL that followed the next week on 8th April 2011.

The second time, IPL and World Cup happened in the same year was in 2015. The world Cup ended on 29th March 2015 and the IPL began around ten days after the World Cup on 8th April.

Unlike 2011 and 2015, the coming IPL 2019 is going to take place before the World Cup.
