Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to field first, a decision that would later prove to be a strategic masterstroke.

“We’ll field first. New pitch, seems like a good track and we are excited after our last match. It is an amazing venue to play cricket and we hope to start well taking early wickets.
We are confident after chasing 261. We need to have courage and be brave as they are a good team, especially at home. We are going with the same side”

Sam Curran, PBKS Skipper

” We would have bowled as well, but we weren’t exactly sure. Dew plays a factor so it is tough defending, but the fact that we won by 78 runs shows a lot about the team, but we’ll be missing Pathirana’s services and also Tushar Deshpande misses out today.
Pathirana has a slight niggle and Deshpande is not well. We will look to put up a good total. so We have got Shardul in his place and Richard Gleeson makes his debut.”

“It was a good track to bowl on, and even Rahul Chahar bowled well. I have been playing for last 6 years, so my confidence has been pretty high. Now bowling to these legends of the game like MS Paji and all it feels normal, I just bowl to my strengths. To be honest, I don’t think wickets, my aim is only to bowl lots of dot balls and dot balls create the wickets. When there is spin in the wicket, the bowlers’ confidence goes up and it is a bit helpful.”

Harpreet Brar, Punjab Kings

The match concluded with PBKS securing a comfortable win over CSK.

The victory was built on the back of a disciplined bowling effort followed by a robust batting performance, ensuring PBKS continued their ascent in the tournament standings.
