The Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to field first, setting the stage for an exciting first innings.

“We prefer to bowl first. The pitch looks favorable for chasing, so that’s our initial plan. We’re prepared for both scenarios but after assessing our strengths and weaknesses, bowling first seemed the better choice.
Team dynamics are vital for success; it’s not just about skill but also the great personalities that enrich our team. These factors make our IPL experience unique and enjoyable.”

Sanju Samson, RR Skipper

“That was the strategy. Both teams have the same pitch conditions. This year, things are quite unpredictable with some injuries and health issues, but that’s all part of the game.
We need to perform across all departments. Our lineup remains largely the same, with Ishant returning and Gulbadin joining in. Plus, we’re utilizing an extra batter as an impact player.”

“Bowling a good length is crucial, especially during the death overs. Having played against Ferreira in South Africa, I knew he favored the back foot. I aimed to keep my deliveries full and quick, which worked as I got him out on the first ball.
I also threw in a couple of seam-up deliveries to gauge the batters’ responses. It’s all about the length, and sticking to that was my plan. Scoring over 200 puts pressure on bowlers but also presents opportunities for wickets, and I focused on playing to my strengths and maintaining belief.”

Kuldeep Yadav, DC

The Delhi Capitals’ comprehensive performance in both batting and bowling departments secured them a 20-run victory over the Rajasthan Royals.
