Chandrakant Pandit, known as “Chandu”. He is a former Indian cricketer who played in 5 Test matches and 36 One Day Internationals (ODIs) from 1986 to 1992.

He born on September 30, 1961, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Pandit was a wicket-keeper batsman during his playing days.

  • Test Debut: Pandit made his Test debut against England at Headingley, Leeds, on June 19, 1986. India won the series 2–0.
  • ODI Debut: His ODI debut was against New Zealand in the Austral-Asia Cup at Sharjah on April 10, 1986.
  • World Cup: Pandit was part of India’s World Cup squad for the 1987 Cricket World Cup.
  • Asia Cup: He was also a member of the Indian squad that won the 1988 Asia Cup.

Chandrakant Pandit: Coaching Success

  • Cricket Academy: After retiring from international cricket, Pandit established a cricket academy at his alma mater, the Hansraj Morarji Public School.
  • Mumbai Cricket Team: As a coach, he achieved success with several teams. Notably, he coached the Mumbai cricket team.
  • Ranji Trophy Triumphs: Pandit led the Vidarbha cricket team to two successive Ranji Trophy triumphs in 2018 and 2019.
  • Madhya Pradesh’s First Title: Under his guidance, the Madhya Pradesh team secured its first-ever Ranji Trophy title in 2022.
  • IPL Head Coach: In 2022, Chandrakant Pandit was appointed as the head coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The owner of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season is Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited. This entity was formed on December 19, 2014. And acquired the team and its rights from its parent company, India Cements.

The transfer of the Super Kings franchise to Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited was primarily due to a conflict of interest issues. In 2014, the ownership was transferred under the name of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd. following a Supreme Court directive that struck down an amendment to the BCCI constitution allowing board officials to have a commercial interest in the IPL and Champions League T20.

Narayanaswami Srinivasan is an Indian industrialist known for his association with cricket administration and India Cements.

N Srinivasan is the Managing Director of India Cements Limited and has been a significant figure in the cement industry. He has also served as the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). And the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

He has been investigated for several issues, including betting on IPL cricket matches. His son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was indicted for passing IPL information to bookies. Srinivasan was also investigated for corruption involving politician Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Srinivasan holds a Bachelor of Science from Loyola College, Chennai. Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, United States.

He is married to Chitra Srinivasan, and they have two children, Ashwin and Rupa. His son-in-law is Gurunath Meiyappan.
